Impressions of Albert Pujols

I got to see Albert Pujols play about half a game for the Angels today in the Cactus League. First impressions:

- He is one big muscular dude!

- He ran out his groundballs hard which is a plus in my book.

- The scorebook won't show it, but he nailed a couple of line drive fouls that left the park very quickly, so he certainly has power.

- He is a big target for infielders to throw to at first base.

I don't know if Pujols should have ever left St. Louis where he could have finished his career & he could have been a modern day Stan Musial to Cardinal fans.

I don't know if anyone is worth a 10-year contract at $240 million, but time will tell. I just see how A-Rod is breaking down on the Yankees with several years left on his deal.

But one thing is for sure - Albert is bringing excitement to the Angel fans.
