Bobby Valentine believes that there are too many lazy people in Spring Training, per an ESPN article. His pre-season regimen at Jet Blue Park will be more intense than others in recent years under Terry Francona.
There is much evaluation of players needed, so Valentine is in favor of adding a few more games. Some players may not like the change (I know, shocking!), but the article quotes Clay Buchholz & Adrian Gonzalez as saying they like the new focus.
The fun starts in another week or so. Let's see who becomes the first sour apple.
