No official word yet, but the rumor mill is buzzing about Theo Epstein being granted permission to talk with the Cubs about their GM position.
Doesn't it make sense that Theo would follow Tito out the door? What's left in Boston for Theo when his contract expires next year? Should a new GM pick the new team manager?
Theo's reign in Beantown is just about over.

On morning talk out of Boston, I heard there are some that believe John Henry has been trying to pump up the value of the Sox so he can sell the team. If so, even more motivation for Theo to go. I never warmed up to Henry. He does not exude warm & fuzzies. He would probably want to concentrate his efforts accross the pond with his new Liverpool toy.
