The Rangers start on the road in St. Louis to begin the 2011 World Series. That's because the All-Star game means something now. How dumb!
The series should have started at The Ballpark since Texas had the better season record. But the NL did win the All-Star game, so the Cards benefit from home field advantage during the series.
Ratings will be down since there are no big east coast or west coast teams in the finals. But it should be an entertaining series between 2 teams who got there much differently. Texas had a consistent season start to finish with a little pitching, a good bullpen & lots of hitting. The Cards pulled a Tampa Bay Rays act by finishing strong in September while the Atlanta Braves faded like the Sox in September.
I hope Nolan Ryan & the Texas Rangers win their 1st World Series. He & his ownership group have put together 2 great back-to-back seasons to reach the World Series twice.
