Has Sox Value Dipped?

If John Henry were to put the Red Sox franchise up for sale, do you think the 2011 season impacts the asking price? I think so.

Mr. Henry & his fellow owners have taken a deep hit to their deep pockets. Plagued by quarrels between ownership, management & players, one would have to think that the franchise value of the Red Sox has gone down. Only the 2012 season will tell if fans continue to lavish their support on a team that failed to return their respect to fans in 2011.

Once the World Series concludes later this week the 2012 season will start to come into focus. For John Henry, Tom Werner, Larry Lucchino & now Ben Cherington there are a lot of bridges to mend with the fans. It starts with putting together a roster of players that will work hard & play as a team to get back into the playoffs. Talent is only one ingredient as we saw last year.
