Theo Epstein is officially gone. He will be introduced by the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday as their new president of baseball operations.
Congrats to you, Theo. No one in Boston will ever forget the misery of 2003 followed by the curse-reversing year of 2004. The mid-year trade of Nomar was the key piece to winning the World Series. And that took guts.
Not all personnel changes have been winners. But look at Theo's counterpart in New York, Brian Cashman. He's had his share of big money duds, like Kevin Brown, Javy Vasquez twice & let's not forget A-Rod who has disappeared in every post-season except 2008.
I hope Theo can bring a World Series to the Cubs in the future. Our 86 years is nothing compared the 100+ years of suffering by the Cubs fans.

Theo leaves the city on a classy note (as did Tito). He took out a full page ad expressing his thanks to the fans, Tito and his employers. Sox owners could take a lesson from him on how to conduct themselves.
