Ben Cherington was introduced as the new GM of the Sox today, just as Theo was introduced to the Cubs fans as their new President.
But leave it to John Lackey to upstage the Cherington announcement. News broke that Lackey will undergo Tommy John surgery & missed the entire 2012 season. What a break!
Now Cherington can go out & find some young talent to fill-in as the #4 & #5 starters behind the beer, chickin' & biskit boys of Beckett, Lester & Buccholz. Maybe those 3 will have taken enough heat by Spring Training to actually work hard next year.
