Bravo Diamondbacks!

I spend time in Arizona & foolow the D-backs when I'm in town. They had quite a run in the regular season & playoffs this year.

The Arizona Diamondbacks exceeded expectations by coming within one run of moving onto the NLCS. New manager Kurt Gibson mixed in several youthful players with some veterans & mid-season acquisitions to get to the top of the NL West & within 1 run of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS.

Gibson is known as a no-nonsense guy & he got the most out of a team of mostly unknown players. Ian Kennedy had a career year, similar to Jacoby Ellsbury. An injury to SS Stephen Drew was plugged adequately by Willie Bloomquist. And J.J. Putz was a better-than-average closer.

The D-backs may have lost, but they gained the respect of their fan base for leaving it all on the field. Why don't we get 9 players like that?
