Sox Win #86, Wake Wins #200

The drought is over.

The Sox couldn't have scripted a better time to explode offensively with an 18-6 drubbing of the Toronto Blue Jays to begin their 10-game homestand. Youk returned to the lineup which was maybe overlooked, but very important. Ellsbury & Pedroia went 4-5 each with 8 runs driven in. Petey delivered 2 big homers while Ells contributed a Monster shot as well.

And Tim Wakefield pitched 6 innings to finally, finally earn elusive win #200. As he said, he's glad it's over. He becomes the 89th pitcher to ever win 200 or more games & he is the 2nd oldest to do it. Good for Tim!

Adding to the big night, Tampa Bay loses in Baltimore to send the AL Wild Card lead back to 4 games.

What a difference a day makes! Life is good again.

Life certainly is a little better. They need to pick things up big time going into the playoffs. 2 TDs, a 2 pt conversion and a field goal once a week isn't going to cut it. Good for Wake! Now mabe when the pitching gets a little healthier, they can put him in the pen for long term relief.
