The Boston Red Sox have hit a rough patch. They are 2-5 in their last 7 games, including a 1-0 extra inning loss in Toronto today. Balls don't find holes, umpire calls go against you - it seems like nothing goes right.
John Lackey has had 2 poor outings in a row.
The offense is either 10+ runs or no runs.
The bullpen, other than Bard & Pap, has been bad more than good.
Josh Beckett get a sprained ankle today.
And on & on we could go.
This is why we fans never count on anything with the Red Sox until the math says it's so. Hello! Doesn't past history tell us that? Stop worrying about who the 3rd starter will be in the playoffs. We have to get there first.
Nothing is for certain, especially with a 1-4 record to start the final month of September.
