O McDonald!

Darnell McDonald misplays 2 balls in left field - all because Carl Crawford has a stiff neck before the game & pulls himself out of the lineup.

David Ortiz has a double taken away because of a poor foul ball call by the first base umpire.

Kyle Weiland starts an important game down the stretch because the Sox decide to keep Alfredo Aceves in the pen. He gives up 3 home runs & 5 runs in 4.2 innings.

Nothing works out in a 6-5 loss by the Red Sox to the O's in game 1.

Now we turn to John Lackey in game 2 to get a much needed win. If you can believe it, I feel better about starting Lackey than Weiland.

Poor decisions by mgmt, poor fielding, untimely hitting, poor officiating. All are ingredients to a recipe for a disastrous September.
