O Canada!

Going 1 out of 4 north of the border is only a batting average of .250. Sox lose again 7-4.

Pitching was the culprit this whole series. Other than Jon Lester, starters & relievers did not perform well, as evidenced by another poor outing by Andrew Miller. It's hard to comeback from a 4-0 deficit after 2 innings.

Don't look for much improvement in Tampa Bay. Lackey & Weiland start the first 2 games. We know the Rays get the edge in starting pitching. It could be a 1 for 3 weekend if Lester can win his game again.

Next week we should see Bedard & Beckett back in the rotation. Until then, we are in survival mode & watching the AL Wild Card race heat up. As of today, the Sox are only 6 games up in loss column on the Rays with 18 games to go. A sweep by the Rays in Tampa could cut that lead in half. We need the team to step-up this weekend, pitch & hit well enough to win.
