Mo, Yankees Prevail 4-2 in Finale

Adrian Gonzalez struckout with the bases loaded in the 9th as Mo Rivera & the Yankees won last night 4-2. Yankees finally beat Boston in a series, but it can down to the last at-bat.

I never thought of it before, but Mariano Rivera is similar to Tim Wakefield - he has one pitch which is unhittable at times. Wake has the knuckler. Mo has the cutter.

A questionnable called 3rd strike on Gonzo ended the game after Rivera gave up 2 walks & a hit. The pitch was still close enough that Gonzo should have protected the plate. It wasn't a good series for Adrian who had only 1 hit in 3 games. The Yankees leave town 1/2 game behind the Red Sox in the AL East.

How about some good news? Kevin Youkilis gets activate for the start of another big series tonight against the Texas Rangers. Youk will definitely lengthen the lineup & give it more punch against the Texas lefties.

We need to forget the Yankees & focus on winning this weekend series with the Rangers. Who made up this schedule? It's like playing 2 playoff series in a row in September.

Why is it that when the Sox come up against pitchers that the rest of the league is beating the daylights out of,yet against the Sox they look like Cy Young. I really believe their inconsistent hitting is of more concern that the pitching.
