I told my brother last week that there are just too many sports shows on TV & radio these days. Constant chatter, chatter, chatter & it's usually about nothing or it's about something that was made up to attract a bigger rating.
I'm taking my shower yesterday & I'm listening to the TV version of Dennis & Callahan for one of the first times. My first impression is they talk about a lot of non-sports stuff for what is suppose to be a sports program. Then I hear them both get going on Erik Bedard. The inference was Bedard will not last in Boston because he's not a media guy, he supposedly doesn't like pitching for a playoff team & he must be soft because he still leaves near or with his parents in Canada.
Really? Is this great sports journalism by 2 guys who have been around the block in Boston? I don't think Red Sox fans care about Bedard's interview skills. I don't think Red Sox fans care where he lives. And I don't know of any pitcher in the big leagues who hasn't pitched in meaningful games at some point in their career.
Erik Bedard is not Clay Buchholz. But let's get behind him & see what he does on the field before reporters tear him to shreds. I won't be listening to Dennis & Callahan anymore. They seem to be too self-serving for me. Goodbye John & Gerry!

Dennis and Callahan are not worth listening to, let alone watching. These guys are tabloid journalists; and perhaps using the word "journalist" gives them too much credit. They are more full of themelves than anything newsworthy they may impart to their listeners. Do yourselves a favor, change the dial to "Mike & Mike", or for something more local, "Toucher & Rich".
