Sox Win Again 7-1

Perhaps inspired the night before by Dustin Pedroia, the Red Sox lineup busted out of a scoring drought by drubbing the Royals 7-1 last night. This was a great team win all around.

Andrew Miller pitched much better than expected, limiting KC to 1 run over the 1st 5 innings. After running into trouble in the 6th my favorite crazy man Alfredo Aceves put down the threat & finished up the last 3 innings. As Tito said after the game Aceves work of 3+ scoreless innings in relief will help the Red sox & their bullpen in coming days on this road trip. Aceves has been the Justin Masterson type guy out of the pen that they have needed all year long.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia had the big blow on offense, a 3-run homer to put the Sox up 5-1 at the time. Saltie now has 12 dinger, a new record for him. The combo of Tek & Saltie have delivered 20 HR's this year which is much better than anticipated. Up & down the order everyone contributed. Even Ryan Lavarnway got his 1st major league hit in front of his family.

This win assures the Sox of at least a split in KC before moving onto Texas.
