Sox Lose Nightcap 6-2

Yesterday was a visual lesson as to why the Tampa Bay Rays are a team to be reckoned with - pitching & defense. Mixed that with a sprinkling of offense & you can see how the Rays beat the Sox 6-2 in the nightcap of their doubleheader.

On the Red Sox side I looked at the lineup & said this is pathetic. I knew there would be no offense with Big Papi, Youk & Scutaro out of the lineup. Crawford looks terrible at the plate. Even Gonzo isn't waiting anymore to ground out since he swings on the first pitch - which is bizarre to me. Ellsbury & Pedroia can't carry the load every game.

And the ball in the field usually finds your weakest link(s). That was Lowrie & Aviles playing on the right side together & not having a good day in the field defensively. Too many errors.

Thank goodness we won the 1st game. Lackey matches up with Price today. I'm going to the game, so I hope Lackey can keep the Sox within 3 or less & we pray for a big fly with men on base.

Hits have been in short supply of late....and the Bombers just keep winning. Crawford struck out 6 times yesterday. They are making so so pitchers look like Pedro.
