Sox Lose 5-2

It was the Twins offense putting up runs late in the game last night as opposed to the Sox bats doing damage over the final innings. 3 runs in the 8th paved the way for the Twins to salvage the last game of a 3-game set.

Jon Lester pitched well enough to win over the first 7 innings, giving up 2 runs. He got extended into the 8th due to a tired bullpen & it cost him the lead. Alfredo Aceves was ineffective in relief, giving up 2 additional runs. I thought that Tito might use Dan Wheeler to start the 8th, but that's just second guessing on my part.

An off-day today will allow New England sports fans to check out the Patriots first pre-season game tonight. The Sox travel to Seattle to start a weekend series on Friday.
