Slow News Day

It was funny to watch the sport shows last night as reporters tried to make-up stories to report about. Hurricane Irene on Sunday & an off-day on Monday for the Red Sox left the many sports reporters with no games & little to work with.

Everyone is entitled to make a living, but I've never been a fan of athletes-turn-sports reporters who comment on all sports. Like Andy Gresh talking about baseball. Or Lou Merloni talking about hockey. I guess they deserve a year-round job, but it always struck me as odd.

The topics I heard last night ranged from how long is Theo going to stay with the Red Sox to who is your 3rd starter in the playoffs. I guess I give these shows credit for trying to manufacture a story when there is none.

Let the hype of another Red Sox-Yankees series begin. Plenty to report about for the next 3 days.
