Remember the Alamo!

The Boston Red Sox offense punished & embarassed the Texas pitching staff again last night in a 14-2 win. For a 2nd consecutive night the Sox score 10+ runs & every starter contributes at least 1 hit.

Carl Crawford - 5 RBI & a home run.

Jacoby Ellsbury - 2 hits, one a long homer to right as he closes in on 90 RBI for the season.

David Ortiz - 2 hits & 2 runs on his return to the lineup.

Adrian Gonzalez - another long HR to keep his power swing going.

Josh Beckett - 1 run over 6 innings.

And the list of contributors could go on & on. It is no coincidence that the return of Jacoby Ellsbury & David Ortiz to the lineup have improved the results dramatically. Ells was all over center last night tracking down balls in the gap.

5 wins out of 7 games so far on this road trip are more than I expected. With a 2nd consecutive Yankees loss at home last night to the A's the Sox are now in sole possession of 1st place in the AL East. Nice turn of events these last few days!
