As it turns out, this game was over after the 1st inning. Josh Beckett gave up 5 first inning runs, including 2 homers, & the Sox offense just couldn't pull out another come-from-behind win against Felix Hernandez.
For the 2nd night in a row I stayed up for the whole game like many of you. 2-run homers by Ellsbury & Pedroia made it interesting at 5-4, but the Sox couldn't get that one extra hit on this night.
If I was pitching to Carl Crawford & Josh Reddick, I would throw them breaking balls in the dirt with 2 strikes. Neither one of them can seem to lay off that pitch when they are behind in the count.
Maybe the 4th time will be the charm for Tim Wakefield today. Unlike his last start, Bard & Pap are available with the whole bullpen since there is an off-day tomorrow. I have a good feeling that he will finally get win # 200 today.
