There are some teams that a pitcher just can't beat. CC Sabathia is dominant against just about everyone in baseball, just not the Boston Red Sox in 2011. He loses for the 4th time to the Sox, this time by a score of 10-4.
Props to John Lackey, Carl Crawford & Jacoby Ellsbury. Lackey surrendered 3 runs over 6 innings. Crawford contributed 4 hits. (If you want to get Red Sox Nation excited about you as a player, get 4 hits against the Yankees!) And Jacoby Ellsbury hit a big 3-run bomb to right, his 19th of the year. Game over for the Yankees after that.
The win splits the series & keeps the race within 1 game. Since we have Josh Beckett pitching tomorrow I hope we are the team that has the 1 game lead after Sunday night.
