Tuesday & Wednesday will be 2 big dates this week for 3 big games versus the Tampa Bay Rays. A sweep by Tampa would put the Rays back in the hunt for the Wild Card. Tampa has their best 3 starters going in Shields, Niemann & Price.
On the flip side the Sox are coming off a mini-slump in Seattle, losing 2 in a row. Kevin Youkilis & Marco Scutaro are nursing injuries. Gonzo is dealing with a neck pull & possible fatigue in his shoulder that was operated on. We are starting our #2, 3 & 4 pitchers during this series in Lester, Bedard & Lackey.
All signs - for fatalistic Red Sox fans - point to a rough 2 days at home. I'm optimistic that the Sox will win 2 out of 3, simply for the fact of being at home. They will rise to the occasion. What do you think?
