Erik Bedard made an OK start in his Red Sox debut. 5 innings, 3 runs.
Unfortunately, the Indians continued to add on against the Sox bullpen & Sox lose 7-3. They split with a team that has had their way with the Sox this year. Old friend Justin Masterson continues to pitch well against his former teammates. Can we get him back?
Josh Reddick hit a game-tying homer to get Bedard off the hook. It will be interesting to see what happens in RF when J.D. Drew comes off the DL.
It's onto the Yankees this weekend. I know the media is always overbearing when it comes to this series, but once again both teams are showing why Red Sox vs. Yankees is the best rivalry in all of sports. Sit back & enjoy!

Even in some of their wins, too many Sox hitters are striking out, especially w/ runners in scoring position. The other night Youk (strikes out way too much for a clean up hitter) struck out after a Gonzo double. 2 inning later bases loaded, not outs, Variteck, MacDonald, and Ells all strike out. Give some credit to the pitching... BUT these guys have to put the ball in play to have a chance. Masterson struck out a good number last night as well. Let's not make OK pitchers in to Cy Young.
