Albers Tough August Continues

Tim Wakefield left the game ahead 4-3, but another bad outing by the bullpen cost him win #200 again. Last time it was Alfredo Aceves who coughed up the lead. This time it was Matt Albers. By the time the 6th inning was over the Royals had scored 8 times on their way to a 9-4 victory last night.

Albers has been as bad in August as he was good in the prior 4 months. I think his ERA for this month is around 10.00. On the flip side, Dan Wheeler has thrown 10+ scoreless innings in his last several outings. It may be time to flip flop the roles of Albers & Wheeler.

It seems like win #200 has been an insurmountable mountain for Wake. His next shot is Thursday in Texas.

Good news - Yankees lost in Minnesota so their lead over the Sox stays at 1/2 game.
