Theo got the depth he was looking for in starting pitching by bringing in Rich Harden from the A's. Often injured, Harden just needs to stay healthy for a few months through the end of the season & into the playoffs. When healthy Harden can give you quality starts. Just what the doctor ordered. Anderson & a player to be named later go to Oakland in return.
Mike Aviles is more of a lateral move for Navarro with more experience & perhaps a more consistent bat. He brings an option for a right-handed bat to the outfield as well.
Do you think Theo is done? For some reason I think he is still interested in Eric Bedard. If we get another pitcher, I think that signals the end of the season for Clay Buchholz. Both Harden & Bedard would be rent-a-pitcher scenarios as both are free agents at the end of the year.
