Timely hitting & excellent relief pitching by Aceves, Bard & Pap sunk the White Sox today 5-3. The Red Sox finally shake-off their poor record against the ChiSox by winning 2 out of 3 this weekend.
Jason Varitek hit a big 2-run homer to get the Sox on the board first. Dustin Pedroia came through with a big 2-run single in the 7th. And Adrian Gonzalez hit a big double to score an insurance run in the 9th.
The Andrew Miller experiment should be coming to an end. Too many free bases. Too many hits. He did have several K's today which just reflects the up & down nature of his control from batter to batter. Maybe new acquiree Erik Bedard will take his spot in the rotation. I'd even go with Wake over Miller for the future.

Kudos to the relief staff as well. Bard has been lights out. Time for me to eat my words. Pappelmouth has been very good, and is not likely to lose his job as closer like I predicted at the end of spring training. Give the devil his due. I'm glad he is our devil and not on another contending team.
