The story of last night's game wasn't lots of offense or lots of players mulling around on the field. It was John Lackey. Lackey pitched well into the 7th & combined with the bullpen to pitch a shutout over the hapless Orioles.
Lackey picked a good time to stymie the O's offense as fellow starters Buchholz & Lester are on the DL & Beckett is nursing a minor knee injury. The fact that the Sox have kept winning in spite of all the injuries is quite a story in itself.
At least Lackey has one good performance to build on to end the 1st half. His 2nd half has to be better.
