Sorry for my post that said Rich Harden was acquired from Oakland. He was, but the physical was a stumbling block that nixed that trade.
Instead, the Sox got creative in a 3-team deal that sends Erik Bedard from Seattle to Boston - unless there are some strings attached that I don't know about. Bedard will be the 5th starter if Buchholz returns this year. If not, he will vie for the #3 spot with John Lackey or become the #4.
Good move, Theo. We needed another arm. Bedard will be a rent-a-pitcher for the remainder of this season. I say it can't hurt because Miller has to be moved out of the rotation.
