Cameron Waived

Mike Cameron is gone. As Theo admitted, this was one signing that didn't work.

Cameron was hurt with a sports hernia for most of 2010. He earned points with his teammates by playing through pain for as long as he did. This year it appears that Cameron never regained his old form. Neither at the plate nor in the field was he the same guy. It was time to let Cameron go & get a more productive player to take his spot on the 25-man roster.

The Sox have options in J.D. Drew, Darnell McDonald & Josh Reddick. As in a previous article I wrote about time for John Lackey to "man up," can't we say the same about J.D. Drew? Time for Drew to play everyday & contribute. If he's played 40 games out of the first 80, I'd be surprised. Vacation is over, J.D. Pick up your glove, get your butt on the field & stay there.

With Cameron gone opportunity is knocking in RF. Who will answer the door? I think Drew.
