The best recipe for a quick, 3-hour win is good pitching. That's what the Sox got from Clay Buchholz last night.
Buck went 7 innings giving up only 1 run & working out of trouble when he needed to. Bard put up a zero in the 8th. Pap closed it out in the 9th. The Jays could only muster 4 hits.
I remain so impressed with Adrian at 1B & his fielding ability. In New York he took away some rockets hit by Teixeira. Same last night with a few of the Jay's lefties. Pitchers love pounding the strike zone when the guys behind them are sure-handed.
And how about petey getting 3 hits in his comeback. Not really a laser show with 2 infield hits, but he'll take them. Maybe he will get his offensive game going now.
Lackey goes this afternoon. A win today would give the Sox another series win on the road. I was hoping for 5-4 on this road trip. So far we are 4-0.
