Sox Win, Bucs Boot Game

Sox finally get a road win 4-2 in Pittsburgh. The Pirates won in errors committed during the game 4-2. Not your classic game, but we'll take an ugly win anytime.

How about Andrew Miller stepping up & pitching another decent game? As one reporter noted, it's only be the Padres & Pirates, but Miller has kept the team in each start that he pitched.

The upcoming series with the Philadelphia Phillies will be overhyped as a preview of the World Series. I mentioned to one of my brothers that I wished the Sox were at full capacity with all of their starters in the line-up. But this should be a series dominated by pitching, starting with Beckett vs. Lee on Tuesday. A few runs by either side will go along way in Game 1.

An interesting subplot to this series in Philly will be John Lackey's start on Wednesday. If "Slackey" gives up another 6-7-8 runs like his last start, Tito has to start thinking about putting him into the bullpen when Buchholz gets back to the rotation on July 4th. And Lackey needs to go to Communication Class 101 to learn how to talk to reporters. His last press conference, like several others, was less than positive with the press.

And the David Ortiz, Adrian Gonzalez thing keeps going.

Should be another fun week with the Red Sox.

A Red Sox player actually bunted in this game, to move runners along. They revived me after a couple of minutes. I'll be fine.
