Sox Pound Brewers 10-4

The Boston Red Sox offense just keeps pounding away. They put up 10 runs against the Brewers last night to win 10-4. Ells & A-Gon went yard. Big Papi had 3 hits.

Several developments are worth a comment:

- John Lackey pitched well after giving up 4 runs in the first 2 innings. It was nice to see his fastball top out at 92 or 93 versus the 89-90 from previous starts.

- Carl Crawford's hamstring injury shouldn't keep him out of the lineup long. However, it's never good to see a starter come off the field.

- Same deal with Kevin Youkilis. Youk left the game with a sore ankle. Again, he should not be out long, but another starter going out is never good.

With Jed Lowrie on the DL & Clay Buccholz experiencing back spasms we are starting to see minor things add up. Throw Bobby Jenks in there too.

I guess we can't expect an injury-free year, but as they say in insurance - frequency can breed severity. We don't need a repeat of the 2010 season.
