It's a good tag line, but the World Series isn't played at the end of June. There's still another half season to go &, as we know all too well, anything can happen.
Both the Red Sox & Phillies come into this series not hitting well. The Phillies are averaging 3 runs per game, but their pitching is giving up less than 3 on a consistent basis. The Red Sox are starving for runs without David Ortiz' bat in the lineup & are also without the bats of Carl Crawford & Jed Lowrie.
At this point the Sox are just looking to win a series on the road. These games are no more important than the 3 just played in Pittsburgh & no less important than the next 3 in Houston.
The goal is to win this series, not the World Series. Beckett and Lee will make Game 1 an interesting one.
