Jon Lester was OK, just no great. Kevin Youkilis had a rough night at 3B. Mike Cameron made a costly error in RF. Sox batters left over 10 runners in scoring position. Pirates beat the Red Sox 3-1 for a 3rd straight loss by Boston.
You know it is going to be a long night when Darnell McDonald & Mike Cameron are hitting 5th & 6th with averages under .200 each. No timely hitting all night.
The issue about playing Gonzalez in RF will continue if this anemic lineup doesn't start getting a key hit here or there. Even Youk got pitched around without Big Papi behind him. Probably a smart move.
This could turn into a long 8 more games in National League parks. At least the Yankees lost to Colorado.
