It's A Parity League

Just for fun, I looked at the standing today. Here's my analysis:

30 teams

25 teams are 5 games above .500 or less

5 teams are more than 5 games above .500

It's a parity league this year. Several divisions, top to bottom, have a spread of 5 or 6 games separating the entire division. The AL East is one of them.

Don't start the talk again of 100 wins like was happening in May when the Sox were on a tear. Both the Red Sox & Yankees ended May with 30 wins. That equates to 90 for the season. I think 92 or 93 wins wins the AL East this year. Toronto, Tampa Bay & Baltimore are all too competitive this season for the Sox or Yankees to get to 95+ wins.
