I'm with Lou Merloni on this one. No, don't play Adrian in the outfield & weaken your team defensively.
What about a simple answer like rotate Big Papi & Adrian at first every other game? The odd guy out becomes the pinch-hitter for the night.
Take it even one further step back. The core issue is whether or not the AL & NL should have two rules about the DH. Either have one or not. Bob Ryan was right when he said before you think about realignment MLB needs to address the DH rule once & for all.
Every AL team is at a disadvantage when they play in an NL park. That's a fact. And with close pennant races your interleague record can effect the playoff picture.
How about we address the DH once & for all.

I would definitely put Adrian in right! You get decent defense from Drew, but ZERO offense. I have to believe Adrian will be adequate at best, but will more that make up for it with the additional offensive threat that keeping Papi in the lineup brings. One thing I do know; Adrian would be better than Jose Canseco who once played outfield for the Sox.
