Thinking about the Sox rotation I haven't heard one word about Dice-K. Do we miss him? No, especially not the way Tim Wakefield has pitched.
The Sox got 2 years of service out of a 5 year contract. Most reporters indicate that he will be lost for the rest of 2010 & most of 2011. The Vegas money says Dice-K will return in August or September of next year just to show other teams that he is healthy & worthy of another contract - somewhere else.
It was a gamble that didn't pay off. But the Sox did win a World Series in 2007 with Dice. His inability to adapt to American baseball will impact future signings from Japan. Too bad.
