Bruins Are Stanley Cup Champs!

It's deja vu all over again.

It's the 2002 New England Patriots being introduced as a team, not individuals, & beating the St. Louis Rams for their first Super Bowl win.

It's the 2004 Boston Red Sox coming back from 0-3 to beat the New York Yankees in the ALCS & going on to beat the St. Louis Cardinals in 4 straight to win the World Series.

It's the 2008 Boston Celtics defeating the Los Angeles Lakers in 6 games to win the NBA title.

Now let's add the 2011 Boston Bruins to the list of world champions. The Boston Bruins personified t-e-a-m & outworked, outhustled & dominated the heavily favored Vancouver Canucks to win Game 7 4-0 in Vancouver & take home the Stanley Cup for the first time in 39 years.

There are too many heroes to mention, but Tim Thomas, Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand & the Bruins 4th line all had a big say in the clinching win last night. The Bruins become the 4th major team in Boston to earn a world championship in the last decade. They are another great sports story that will live in Boston history for many, many years.

I always thought Vancouver had classy fans. Last night they booed during the US anthem, they booed when Thomas got the MVP, they booed when Chara was awarded the cup, then they rioted outside their arena. I know Boston is not immune to such boorish behavior. I guess I just expected better.
Great job Bruins!!
