Who's a better leadoff hitter in all of baseball right now than Jacoby Ellsbury? After a year of questions about injuries & toughness Jacoby is showing Red Sox fans why he deserves their praise.
If not for Adrian Gonzalez living on another planet offensively, Ells would be the talk of the town. His 2-run double got the Sox going against the Yankees last night. He is the AL leader in steals. And his defense is superb. You can't ask any more of a leadoff batter.
It's nice to see such a great comeback year in the making.

I am not sure I agree his defense is superb. I would say he is athletically superb. He doesn't get a good jump on a ball; he is just athletic enough to make up for any positioning and early read issues. Hopefully he will learn the later before the former declines with a little age.
