Harmon Killebrew has passed away at the age of 74. I remember seeing him hit mammoth home runs with those big arms for the Minnesota Twins in the 1960's.
There use to be a baseball show on Saturday's when I was a kid called Home Run Derby. Each week 2 players would square off against each other. Killebrew, Aaron, Mays, Banks, Mantle, Maris and others would participate. It was a great way to listen to each hitter on how they stand at the plate & what they look for from the pitcher during a game.
I understand from other reports that Mr. Killebrew was also a very nice human being. We all lose something when athletes who are good people on & off the field pass away. May he rest in peace.
