Every American was effected by the events of 9/11. Athletes were no exception.
I was coaching at Notre Dame College in New Hampshire at the time. We thought about canceling the season, but the players agreed to play through it as a small way of showing terrorists that they could not disrupt our American way of life. I was very proud of them.
For all American who were directly effected by the destruction on 9/11 & other terrorist events the killing of Osama bin Laden is welcomed point of closure for them. For those of us who were indirectly effected we too appreciate that justice has been served by U.S. special forces.
