It's going to be a tough cut-down for the last few spots on the 25-man Major League roster for Terry Francona. Making their push to stay with the big club are Matt Albers & Alfredo Aceves.
Albers comes from the Orioles & knows the AL East. He has looked very good in his relief appearances to date.
Aceves, an ex-Yankee, can be a long man out of the pen or another spot starter. Depending upon what the Sox do with Tim Wakefield, Aceves is one of those versatile guys, a la Justin Masterson, & he is making his case to stay with the team.
There's nothing like competition.
