Every Red Sox fan knows what Truck Day is. And it took place yesterday.
The official Red Sox tractor trailer, loaded with everything from bats to play pens, left Fenway Park yesterday for its annual trek to Spring Training in Fort Myers. This date is a sign to winter-stricken fans of brighter & better days to come.
Only in Boston could this be an event. Given the mounds of snow & predictions for more to come, Truck Day took on a little more significance this year. It reminds all fans, at least for one day, that winter will come to an end & the boys in red & blue will be back on the field soon. In fact, pitchers & catchers report on Sunday.
