No Joy in St. Louis

Albert Pujols is heading for free agency at the end of this season. The franchise player of the Cardinals reportly turned down $200 million over 8 years with an opportunity to buy into the Cardinals ownership.

These numbers make no sense to the average guy on the street. It would be hard to spend that kind of money in a lifetime. Don't forget that Albert's current contract is worth a mere $16 million this year. Chump change!

There has to be an end somewhere. We the fans end up paying for these salaries in ticket prices or in your cable TV bill.
