Join the party, Carl! The Red Sox picked up a 2nd impact player in Carl Crawford with a 7-year, $142 million deal. Crawford was expected to sign with either the Yankees or Angels, but the Sox beat both of them to the speedy outfielder.
The loss of Crawford to the Sox leaves the Yankees betting all their chips on Cliff Lee. The fact that Lee has not accepted a Yankees offer yet leads one to believe that he wants to stay in Texas. But time & money will tell.
With the addition of crawford you wonder if Jacoby Ellsbury becomes expendable or if there is a possible move of J.D. Drew in the works. The Sox are definitely heavy from the left side & could use a right-handed bat. Maybe there's another trade coming.
Kudos, Theo, way to go! Red Sox Nation is ready for 2011.
