Green Bay Gives Pats A Fight

Trap game. Pushover game. A rookie QB. The New England Patriots made a defensive stand at the end of last night's game to take home a hard-fought win 31-27 over the Green Bay Packers at Foxborough. It wasn't pretty at times, but a win is a win.

Give both teams credit. The Pack started the game by recovering a surprise on-side kick. That sent a strong message to the Patriots that the cheeseheads from Wisconsin meant business & were not going to lay down & play dead. The Patriots offense came alive in the 4th quarter & the Pats "D" made one last stand with a big sack as time ran out.

Green Bay did lose, but they can build on a game where they were just one play or two away from a huge upset win.

And the Patriots know that, despite several miscues, they got the necessary win. Sloppy play & multiple penalties, however, will not get them far into the playoffs.
