The Red Sox have begun discussions with Carl Crawford in Houston. Theo & his team met with Crawford & his reps. Everything seems to have gone well. The Sox will have competition to sign Crawford from the Yankees & the Angels.
Crawford would have a middle-of-the-order spot in the lineup where he could do more hitting & less stealing, a good fit as he gets older. Fenway Park also plays to his strength as a hitter to left-center with plenty of doubles. We can use his speed in the outfield as well.
I still hope that the Sox sign a corner infielder first. Paul Konerko & Adrian Beltre are out there.
