Bad Pap

A chance to sweep the Yankees faded away in the 9th & 10th innings last night. Sox lose 4-3 as Hideki Okajima walks in the winning run in the 10th. (Where was Bard?)

In the 9th the Sox score 2 big runs off Mariano Rivera to take a lead 3-2. But, in the bottom of the 9th, Pap gives us 3 hits & a walk to tie the game 3-3. Another blown save opportunity.

Dice-K pitched his best game of the year over the first 8 innings. A-Rod's bloop HR to right field, a Yankee Stadium special, was the only damage the Yankees could muster off the Dice-man.

This weekend is like the story of 2010. Close, but no cigar.

Papplemouth leads the league in blown saves with 8. Not what you'd expect with an "elite" closer.
