Scutaro, Lackey Deliver 6-3 Win

Marco Scutaro drove in 4 clutch RBI with 2 singles last night. And John Lackey pitched 8 strong innings, giving up just 2 earned runs, as the Boston Red Sox win 6-3 & stay alive for another day.

If you think about an iron man this year, Scutaro has been an anchor on the left side of the infield. He is playing through shoulder problems & gives the Sox a serviceable bat at leadoff.

Yes, it was the lowly Seattle Mariners, but John Lackey showed excellent control last night in the lower part of the strike zone as evidence by his 10 K's. We'll take it. His next start in Tampa Bay will tell us if he has turned the corner.

Let's see if Josh Beckett is also ready to turn a corner tonight.
