Buchholz, McDonald, Kalish Shine in 6-0 Win

Clay Buchholz pitched 7 scoreless innings, including an escape from a bases-loaded situation in the 6th, to earn his 14th victory.

Darnell McDonald, hitting out of the #9 spot, shocked Jered Weaver who had set down the first 8 by hitting a Monster shot over everything that broke a back window in a parked vehicle.

Ryan Kalish delivered a knock out blow by hitting a Weaver change-up into the Sox bullpen for his 1st grand slam. It was quite a picture to see Kalish & Daniel Nava sitting on the bench together - 2 rookies with grand slams to their resumes this season.

And Dustin Pedroia returned to action. No signs of any lingering effects from his broken foot. At least nothing serious enough to keep him out of the lineup. Pedroia is happy to be playing, even if it is at less than 100%.

The Sox win is the 8th in a row against the Angels who look nothing like their teams of the past. Last night's win keeps pace with the Yankees & Rays who also won.

Let's see if Lackey can keep the streak alive against his former teammates tonight.
